Guide: Where to Seek Help?

Where to Find Support During Your Studies at the UW Doctoral School?

The UW PhD Student Union has prepared a guide bringing together the most important information about the support available to doctoral students.

The guide includes information on:

  • support provided by the PhD Student Union, including the Doctoral Rights Ombudsman, information and support office hours, and the Council’s Office,
  • assistance in cases of unequal treatment, discrimination and harassment, as well as available reporting procedures,
  • mobbing and other unwanted behaviours,
  • support from the Academic Ombudsperson and equality representatives,
  • assistance for people with disabilities and health-related difficulties,
  • support for neurodivergent people,
  • free legal assistance and mediation,
  • psychological and psychiatric support,
  • the possibility of using preferred names in UW systems,
  • external crisis support services.

The guide also provides specific contact details, addresses, phone numbers, and information on where and how to seek help.

We hope it will be a practical source of information — both for everyday matters related to your doctoral studies and for more difficult situations.

Save the guide and come back to it whenever you need support.
