- Each doctoral student is obliged to create an electronic university mail (@student.uw.edu.pl or @uw.edu.pl domains) account by October 17th, 2022, and subsequently inform the School’s secretary’s office of that.
- An application for appointing dissertation supervisors has to be submitted to the School’s secretary’s office by November 15th, 2022. (In exceptional cases, the deadline for submission may be extended by a few days).
- After the first semester (winter semester 2022/2023), doctoral students proceed to register for courses in their respective doctoral schools. In relation to that, students are advised to check their email addresses frequently and systematically. (Sometimes registration for a course may be announced just one day before it opens; it is also worth noting that places for some courses tend to be filled quickly).
Students who follow the programme of the Doctoral School of Exact and Natural Sciences constitute an exception, as the scholar’s workshop Publishing strategy in a discipline/field is conducted in the first semester. In order to enrol for this course, students are asked to contact the SDNSP secretary’s office via email (szkola.nsip@uw.edu.pl).
- After passing the higher didactics workshop in the winter semester, a student may complete a teaching practice. The number of hours is determined by the doctoral school supervising the practice. Students who follow more than one teaching programme ought to choose which of the schools is to supervise the teaching practice, and therefore determine the number of hours to be completed. This choice needs to be approved by the student’s supervisor, and the supervisor’s signature must be provided.
- The draft of the Individual Research Plan may be submitted for expert evaluation by June 15th, 2023. The Interdisciplinary Doctoral School strongly recommends doctoral students use this opportunity, as it leads to a substantial improvement in the quality of the document. The complete expert evaluation should be available for the students around July 15, 2023.
- Between September 4th and September 11th, 2023, students are going to receive their transcripts of records so that they can verify them (a transcript of records is a list of all courses completed in a given academic year and linked with it, downloaded from USOSweb).
- Documents required for completing a study stage ought to be delivered to MSD’s secretary’s office by September 15th, 2023. The deadline may be extended until the end of the month. The sooner these documents are submitted, the sooner the student IDs will be validated for another period. In accordance with the Rules and Regulations of Doctoral Schools at the University of Warsaw, a study stage is considered completed when all of the requirements specified in the programme of study for a given stage are met and the doctoral student’s annual report is submitted, along with the opinion of the dissertation supervisor or supervisors.
- The doctoral student’s annual report along with the opinion of the dissertation supervisor, must be delivered to MSD’s Secretary’s Office between September 15th and September 30th, 2023. The template document can be found on the Doctoral School’s website.
- Doctoral students who initiate their studies in the academic year 2022/2023 have to submit their Individual Research Plans by September 29th, 2023. It is recommended to submit them by September 22nd, 2023, as the submitted documents must be checked for correctness and completeness.
- Doctoral students are affiliated with the unit to which their first supervisor belongs. The student’s affiliation ought to be provided when applying for grants, publishing articles, participating in conferences, etc.
- By 20-30 September 2023, second-year doctoral students and their supervisors submit documents for Mid-term Evaluation (daedline subject to change).
