Recruitment

The establishment of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School at the University of Warsaw is a response to the challenges faced by academic researchers today. These challenges revolve around conducting innovative research crossing the boundaries between academic disciplines and fields. At the School, doctoral students prepare theses based on achievements in at least two freely elected fields of academic research, with the leading field indicated, or single-field projects without any leading discipline specified [more information – LINK].
The programme lasts four years and is individualized by design. In addition to the small number of compulsory courses stipulated in the programme, doctoral students, in consultation with their supervisors, generally choose courses that are in line with their interests and that will help them in preparing their dissertations. This flexibility allows studentsto carry out their own original and innovative research projects.
Doctoral students work under the guidance of at least two supervisors representing the chosen scientific fields. The main supervisor should be indicated at the time of submitting the enrolment documents, while the choice of the second (or assistant) supervisor is made during the first three months of studying [more information – LINK].
