Supervisors

It is worth starting the recruitment process to a doctoral school at the University of Warsaw by finding a supervisor who will be willing to provide guidance to the doctoral student and perform scientific supervision over their research project. The name of the supervisor and the scan of their declaration about their willingness to be the candidate’s supervisor shall be submitted via IRK.

In order to find a supervisor, candidates for the Doctoral Schools are encouraged to search the database of supervisors available here [LINK to the website with Search for supervisors]. The database contains the list of University of Warsaw researchers who are willing to perform the function of a dissertation supervisor.

The candidates are also encouraged to consult the websites of faculties and academic units of the University of Warsaw  for  information on academic teachers conducting their research.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that an MSD doctoral student works under the guidance of at least two supervisors, representing selected scientific fields. The proposal for the main supervisor is indicated by an MSD candidate at the time of submitting the enrolment documents, while the selection of a second supervisor (or an assistant supervisor in case the second supervisor only has a doctoral degree) takes place during the first month after the start of the studies at the doctoral school.
