Mądrość! Siła! De-ter-mi-nacja!
On April 11, 2026, the Doctoral Schools of the University of Warsaw celebrated their 7th anniversary! To mark the occasion, the Rector’s Cup Futsal Tournament was organized.
It was a tournament full of fierce competition, excitement, and moments that could easily have made it into the sports history books — or at least into the legends told over coffee on campus.
MSD showed its character from the very first whistle. Every match was a battle for every ball, every meter of the court, and every shot that could tip the balance. And although our group of supporters was small, they made themselves impossible to ignore – with banners, chants, relentless cheering and… a flute. Because when MSD does something, it does it without compromise!!!
Behind the scenes, special credit goes to our coach, Grzegorz Wałpuski, who supported the teams on every possible front – from tactics and motivation to the crucial supply of isotonic drinks and gummy candies. As it turns out, the road to success is sometimes paved with a well-designed game plan and a solid dose of sugar!
Our goalkeepers also did an outstanding job. Karol Samsel for the women’s team and Berke Sensekerci for the men’s team (while not the only one in goal, he was the primary goalkeeper) repeatedly saved their teams in difficult moments, showing reflexes, composure, and de-ter-mi-na-tion that truly made a difference.
And since the tournament took place in Poland, it wouldn’t be complete without a nod to classic football traditions. MSD proudly earned the first yellow cards in both the women’s and men’s categories – consistency above all!
In the end, we finished the tournament in an excellent second place, but more importantly, with the feeling that we gave it our all – on and off the court. And if anything was as visible as our banners, it was the fact that MSD is a team with real character.
